Spring 2024 Tax Internship

We are seeking accounting students who are looking to gain experience in tax and accounting work to join us as interns for Spring.
Our internships are the first step toward finding a full-time position with us upon graduation.
Our firm is growing and we are always looking for tax professionals that are looking to stay in the St Croix Valley Area.
Our internship program will run from January through April 15th.
We are open to discussing a full-time or part-time internship arrangement with the right candidates.
As an intern, you will gain invaluable experience working with CPAs and accountants on tax compliance and accounting.
You will have the opportunity to:
oGain valuable, first-hand experience working side by side with CPAs and accountants in a busy tax office.
oPrepare small business and individual income tax returns in accordance with firm standards under direction of managers.
oComplete electronic tax workpapers to support tax returns prepared.
oReview clients' documents to determine reportable items of income and deduction on tax returns, and prepare missing items lists as needed.
oAssist with generating extensions and estimated tax payments and documentation.
oParticipate in tax training sessions to increase knowledge of tax preparation software and tax legislation.
oPrepare accounting reconciliations in QuickBooks or similar accounting software as assigned.
Qualifications:
oWorking towards a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field oOn-track to graduate with 150 credits, preferred oAbility to work overtime as needed, preferred oAuthorized to work in the United States Recommended Skills Income Tax Laws Quickbooks Pro Tax Management Accounting Balance Sheet Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
